  • Stage 1/2018

    • Elaboration of experimental methods for obtaining extracts with pharmaceutical potential from marine sources and technologies for realization of mesoporous inorganic supports for their encapsulation

  • Stage 2/2019

    • Obtaining and characterization of natural bioactive compounds and their encapsulation in mesoporous matrices with pharmaceutical and bioregenerative evaluation

  • Stage 3/2020

    • Developing dermatologically-cosmetic and pharmaceutical products based on marine resources with synergic action and demonstrating their functionality.

STAGE 1/2018

Project activities

Activity 1.4.

Synthesis and characterization of functionalized mesoporous silica

  • Indicators of achievement: 4 types of pure silica particles, 4 types of silica functionalized with organic groups, 2 types of Zn and Mg-modified silica, characterized by textural parameters, particle size, chemical composition

Activity 1.5.

Biocompatibility assessment of functionalized mesoporous silica supports

  • Indicators of achievement: 1 cell viability report

Activity 1.6.

Harvesting, preparation and characterization of marine raw materials of plant origin

  • Indicators of achievement: 1 selected marine organism, species of green algae Ulva rigida (sin. Ulva lactuca) 2 fluid extracts in different solvents 2 pesticide content analysis bulletins, heavy metal content, biochemical composition 1 analysis bulletin for antimicrobial activity 1 analysis bulletin for antioxidant activity

 

STAGE 2/2019

2nd COMPONENT PROJECT 

Activity 2.1. and Activity 2.2. Activity name: Obtaining and characterizing bio-extracts using advanced technologies

Achievement indicators: extraction technological parameters for polyphenolic extracts, polyphenol extraction technology from tescovina, protein extract, protein extraction technology, green algae polysaccharide extraction technology; chemical profile of polyphenolic extracts, antioxidant activities, metal content, metal content, pesticides.

Activity 2.3. Activity name: Technologies for encapsulation / incorporation of bioextracts in mesoporous matrices and characterization of the composites obtained

Indicators of achievement: pure and functionalized mesoporous polyphenolic-silica extract composites; pure and functionalized collagen-silica composites; chemical compositions, structural features, morphology, thermally established, antioxidant activity, in vitro release profiles.

Activity 2.4. Activity name: Biologically evaluated composites with encapsulated bioextracts

Indicators of achievement: cell viability for free and encapsulated polyphenolic extracts in mesoporous matrices; 1 analysis report for a polysaccharide extract from Ulva lactuca, 1 analysis report for antimicrobial activities

 

Activity 2.5. Activity Name: Preliminary formulations of pharmaceutical / bioregenerative products and their testing

Indicators of achievement: 1 preliminary pharmaceutical formulation - 4 preliminary pharmaceutical formulations were made.

 

Activity 2.6. Activity name: Technologies for recovery and recovery of residual marine biomass in viticulture

Performance indicators: residual marine biomass - algal (green algae), animal (shells) and residual biomass (tescovina); a technological variant for obtaining 1 biostimulator-regenerator for vineyards.
